Join the Toledo Swiss Singers for our 2026-27 Season
Do you love to sing? The Toledo Swiss Singers are welcoming new members for an exciting season of music, friendship and Swiss tradition.
The Toledo Swiss Singers will begin their 2026-27 season on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Oak Shade Grove, 3624 Seaman Road in Oregon. Optional social time and sectional rehearsals begin at 7 p.m.
Singers age 18 and older are invited to join, with openings in all voice parts: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone and bass. No knowledge of the Swiss languages is required.
This is an especially exciting time to join the choir. In addition to its local performances, the group will prepare to travel to Ottawa, Ontario, for Saengerfest, the international gathering of the North American Swiss Singing Alliance.
The 2026–27 season includes:
- Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. — Fall Concert
- Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027 — Valentine Tea
- Sunday, May 2, 2027 — Spring Concert

About the Singers
Under the direction of Micah Graber, the choir has been a cultural staple in the Toledo area since 1869 — over 155 years of celebrating Swiss culture in the area. The chorus in its current form has been around since 1924. Its aim is to retain and preserve the culture and songs of Switzerland, to live up to the singers’ ancestors’ tenets of faith and behavior, help others, and to be good citizens.
The Singers perform two concerts annually, including a wide variety of traditional Swiss, Broadway, Gospel and American music, as well as a special event in the winter/spring.
The group is part of the North American Swiss Singing Alliance (NASSA), made up of 13 choirs from Canada and the U.S. Singers compete internationally every three years. The Singers were awarded a silver prize at Saengerfest, held in Pittsburgh in June 2024, and are now looking ahead to the next gathering in Ottawa, Ontario.
The nonprofit organization is also part of the larger German American Festival (GAF) Society, which most people associate with the festival held annually in August. The society consists of seven German-speaking societies. During the festival, the Singers set up and operate the Swiss Cheese Haus, along with the Stein Stossen contest. The GAF Festival draws more than 30,000 people on an average weekend and is the largest ethnic festival in this part of the country.
The Toledo Swiss Singers rehearse Wednesday evenings from September through May at Oak Shade Grove, 3624 Seaman Road in Oregon. Social time and sectional rehearsals begin at 7 p.m., followed by full rehearsal from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
